About Us

Habitat Built By An Arborist Who Cares.

Habitat Western Australia was founded by [James – add surname], an arborist with 27 years working in the tree canopies of WA. That's a lot of days up in the trees, and a lot of them spent identifying and working with native animals in their habitat. Over time it changed what the job was about. It stopped being only about the tree and started being about everything that lives in it.

Natural hollows are getting scarce. A small hollow takes around 100 years to form and a parrot-sized one takes around 200, but in urban areas trees are often removed long before they get there. We exist to close that gap, with hollows, nest boxes, bee hotels and native planting built around what each species actually needs.

We've been in business for 17 years, working with schools, government and private clients. Our team identifies suitable endemic revegetation locations and the right fauna species for rehabilitation, and we keep records and studies so every project is based on what we've seen on the ground. We won't install a hollow just because we can. We check for food and water first, and we keep looking after what we put in.

What We Care About

Nurture, protect, thrive. That's the logo and it's how we work.

01

Our Mission

To teach the importance of urban habitat to the next generation of West Australians, and to build habitat that native wildlife can actually use.

02

Our Vision

Urban spaces across WA where native animals have the food, water and shelter they need to thrive.

03

Our Values

Wildlife first. Plan before we build. Keep looking after what we install.

Simple Steps To Habitat That Works

From a school visit to a full habitat build, we plan around the site and the species, and we look after what we install.

01

Enquire and Plan

Tell us what you have in mind. We reply with info, availability and pricing, and for schools, a learning plan matched to the year level.

02

Assess and Build

We check food, water and the right spots, then build and install hollows, bee hotels or planting to suit. Hard-to-reach trees are accessed by rope or elevated work platform.

03

Teach and Look After

We run the session, restore the habitat and keep an eye on what we've installed as trees grow.

Habitat Built By People Who Know The Canopy

We don't put up a box and walk away. We plan around food, water and the species you want to help.

27 Years In The Trees

A working arborist's knowledge of how trees age, where hollows form and what wildlife needs.

Fully Certified Crew

A trained team with safety management plans and procedures on every job.

Built For The Species

Entrance size, depth and position are matched to the animal and to summer and winter aspect.

Easy For Teachers

We bring the learning plan and run the session. No extra work for your staff.

Western Australia Wide

We work across the whole of Western Australia.

Ongoing Care

We adjust fixings as host trees grow and deal with unwanted swarms.

What Our Clients Say

See why clients across Western Australia trust Habitat WA for practical habitat solutions, specialist knowledge and genuine care for native wildlife.

We had a great experience working with the team. James brought a genuine understanding of the local environment and native wildlife to the project. The habitat restoration was carefully planned around the existing vegetation and the wildlife we wanted to support. You can tell this is more than just a job for them, they genuinely care about the bush and creating better habitat for the future.

Monica Desanti Native Habitat Restoration

The team were fantastic from start to finish. They took the time to explain how the hollows work, which species they were suited to and why placement was so important. The workmanship was excellent, and it was great to see a practical solution being created for native wildlife rather than simply losing another natural habitat.

Jeff Mendoza Tree Hollow Installation

James and the team were brilliant to deal with. Their knowledge of native wildlife and habitat really came through in the way they approached the project. They looked at the bigger picture, including food, water and surrounding vegetation, rather than just installing a habitat structure and walking away. We’re really pleased with the result and looking forward to seeing the local wildlife make use of it.

Native Wildlife Habitat Con Dimeglio

The school visit was a fantastic experience for our students. The presentation was engaging, practical and easy for the kids to understand, and they loved learning about local wildlife and getting involved in habitat restoration. It was wonderful to see the students so interested in protecting the natural environment around them.

Julian Oliver School Habitat & Education

We were very impressed with the care and professionalism shown throughout the fauna work. James and the team clearly understand the importance of handling wildlife responsibly, and everything was carried out with great attention to the animals and the surrounding environment. It gave us real confidence knowing the work was being handled by people with genuine field experience.
